Michael Johnson specializes in real estate taxation, small business taxation, and short-term rental property consulting for investors, buyers/ sellers of rental real estate properties. He is a certified public accountant, and former real estate appraiser, and current investor in short term rentals.
As a local seasoned certified accountant specially trained in handling the challenges and standing up to the pressures of the time sensitive tax compliance process, he know how to handle the most complex of issues. Michael began in accounting practice starting with KPMG- international and consulting firm in 1986, launched his practice in 1991 in Montrose, Colorado. He began his career, teaching entrepreneurs how to start and manage small business, attracting hundreds of small business clients.
Michael, today, has a continuing education statewide program, which authorizes continue education credits (CE credit), to real estate brokers, for short term rentals, he is expanding this program due to the popularity, helping agents with difficult transactions, technical issues, accounting and tax issues.
Mr. Johnson specializes in the restoration of older turn of the century commercial property, and has ownership of short-term rental properties in Montrose, Colorado. Michael is married to his lovely wife, Carla, who works in the practice, father of four children, and seven grandchildren. They live in beautiful Montrose, Colorado, enjoying outdoor lifestyles.
His passion is helping real estate investors, buyers/seller, and short-term rental entrepreneurs, develop positive and profitable businesses.
